Today while coming home from college, as usual there was a lot of traffic. I wondered why so many commute. Is it really any dire need to travel for each one us ? Lets take my example. I travel 13.4 KM
to and fro to my college by my scooter almost 5 times a week. Can we find a way to avoid me physically going to college... Absolutely YES ! We can use the technology of video conferencing so that the students can learn with their comfort of place, time and pace. Daily I see few hundred vehicles(mostly two-wheeler) in my college campus and on a busy day that number can easily reach around a thousand. There are more than 800 colleges in my city! Its the Oxford of east. Imagine how many vehicles will be off road, assuming 50% attendance and 1000 students per college on an average that would be around 4,000,000. Pollution is a issue which should be addressed urgently and must be treated as an emergency. Yet government as well as citizens have casual attitude towards pollution.
